Privacy
This page describes what EarlyGuide actually does with your information. Where a promise below is enforced by code rather than by policy, it says so — and where something is done by hand, it says that too.
What we collect
Your email address, so you can sign in. There are no passwords anywhere in EarlyGuide.
About your child: a nickname, a birth year, and the grade and year you are applying for. That is all. No surname, no date of birth, no gender — those fields do not exist in our database.
What you tell us in a session: your own words, kept exactly as you said them. This is the product, not a by-product.
Voice is never stored
If you speak instead of typing, the audio passes straight through transcription and is never written to disk, ours or anyone's. There are no recordings, no voiceprints, and no biometric data of any kind.
This is enforced in code, not promised in a policy: the route that handles audio has nowhere to save it.
Where your information is processed
Your account and your stories are stored in Canada. Some processing happens outside Canada — the models that run the conversation, transcription, and email delivery are operated by providers in the United States.
We ask for your consent to that before your first session, and record when you gave it. You cannot start a session until you have.
What we never send to analytics
No story content and no personal information leaves EarlyGuide for analytics. Our analytics layer refuses, at runtime, to send any value long enough to be prose — so a quote cannot reach it even by mistake.
How long we keep things
Your stories, your own words, and the answers built from them are kept for as long as your account exists. That is deliberate: they are yours, and a product that quietly deleted them would be worth less than a notebook.
We do not put your stories on a timer, and we do not delete them to save space. The only thing that removes them is you asking us to.
Deleting your account
Write to us from the contact page, or reply to any email we have sent you, and ask us to delete your account. You do not have to give a reason.
We act on it within 30 days. Your account and everything in it go together — your stories, your answers, your child's details and your sign-in — rather than piece by piece. We also tell our email provider to stop sending to you.
This is done by a person, not automatically, which is why it takes days rather than seconds. Nothing about your family is used for anything in the meantime.
If you ever get a sign-in email you did not ask for, every one of them carries a link that kills the account outright, without needing to sign in.
Who else handles your information
We use a small number of providers to run the service: hosting and databases, the AI models behind the conversation, speech-to-text, payments, email, and product analytics. They process information on our instructions and for no other purpose. We do not sell your information, and we never will.
